Why My Website?

The application I chose to use to produce this website, included the ability to add a line of text called “The Slogan” directly under the “Title’.

The words of Baha’u’llah, founder of the Bahá'í Faith, came to mind “. . . let your vision be world embracing”. This seamed appropriate, so I included them on the “Home Page”.

When adding additional pages I para phrased the words to indicateing that I believe each of these themes can and has embraced a world view.

This was how I felt about the subject long before becoming acquainted with Bahá'í teachings.

Let your vision be world embracing

These are just some of my interests, why not delve a little further, click on a subject and learn more.

Amateur
Radio

My interest and love for Amateur Radio was kindled long before I was a teenager, and has stayed with me for the rest of my life. I started by listening to the short wave bands on my parents radio and progressed thru building crystal sets.

Bah
á'í
Faith

My interest and subsequent recognition of the importance of the Bahá'í Faith came well after middle age and again has stayed with me for the rest of my life. As a Bahá'í one naturally wishes to be active in the well being of the whole world.

Esperanto
Language

Interest in the international language Esperanto started when my two boys started language classes at school. Looking for suitable books in the public library, I picked up a teach yourself book on Esperanto and literally couldn’t put it down.

Travel
the World

Travel, what can I say. From teenage adventure holidays in Europe with the Boy Scouts and with the YHA; to migrating to Australia as a “ten-pound-pom”. Later I returned home by bus overland from India, including some memorable places such as Afghanistan and Iran. Time in the merchant navy introduced me to many interesting ports. These days my wife and I hope to keep travelling on overseas holidays for a s long as we can.

University
of the
Third Age

The University of the Third Age, is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment providing educational, creative and lesure opportunities in a friendly environment. My wife and I joined the U3A in St Albans a few years ago. There are groups we attend together and some we don’t.
